Frequently Asked Questions
If you have any questions that aren't answered below, or have a requirement that isn't covered on this site, feel free to contact RM LOOKS by email or telephone. We'll do our best to answer them within 24 hours.
1. I am getting married in only two weeks time and need a make-up artist but might have left it too late. Can you help?
RM LOOKS has a team dedicated to weddings and make-up lessons, and are often able to provide someone at short notice. Give us a call as soon as possible to discuss your requirements.
2. I would like a make-up lesson focused only on eye make-up / lips. Is this possible?
We normally provide lessons that are pre-structured to ensure a balance of all major areas of make-up. However, we will do our best to create a custom lesson focused on your area(s) of interest.
3. I intend to have 6 bridesmaids at my wedding, all of whom will need make-up. Can you do this and for how much?
With advance notice, there is no limit to the number of people we will makeover. People requiring make-up who are not covered in the bridal package are charged at N3000 per person. It is especially important that timing is planned carefully with larger numbers of people.
4. How long does a bridal make-up trial last and what should I expect?
You should allow a minimum 30 minutes for your makeup trial. If more than one person is having a trial, allow an extra 25 for each person. Once you are happy with the look, we record all the makeup products used which we keep as a record for your makeup on the day.
5. How long will my make-up take on the day and should I have hair or make up done first?
Your make up is easier to apply if your hair is off your face, we recommend having hair first if it is "hair up", or makeup first if your hair is going to be washed first and left down. It will take approximately 45 mins to one hour for your make up, and 30 mins for each extra person.
There is no limit to the number of people that can have make up applied on the day and we can supply more than one makeup artist for large wedding parties.
6. Can I be sure that the make-up will last all day?
We only use high-end cosmetics that are known for their durability, and all artists are trained to use makeup application techniques that would ensure you will have to take your makeup off at the end of the evening, rather than have to reapply during the day. The only product that you may have to top up would be your lipstick and brushing on of loose powder to reduce shine.
7. How much will I need to pay at the make-up trial?
RM LOOKS charges N2,500 for the brides trial. If you decide at the trial that you would like to secure your wedding date, a non-refundable deposit of 70% is payable. The N2,500 is deducted from your final invoice which is payable one week before the wedding, or on the day.
8. Which areas do you cover?
We cover the whole of Nigeria for wedding and bridal make-up.
9. How soon in advance should I book my makeup trial?
You can have your trial any time you like, although we would suggest leaving it no later than one month before your wedding.
10. What happens if I need to cancel a bridal makeup booking with you?
If you are canceling a trial appointment, you will not incur any charges. If you are canceling your wedding make up unfortunately your deposit will be lost, although, in exceptional circumstances, if it is more than 3 months in advance of your wedding date we can offer you a refund.
11. Where does the makeup trial take place?
The trial will be in your own home or at our studio.
12. What happens if my makeup artist is unwell on my wedding day?
In the unlikely event that this should happen, we will always offer a stand in RM LOOKS.
